Born in Dallas, TX Kari started to sing early at the age of 3 singing internationally at churches around the world. Kari Jobe knew she always wanted to be a worship leader. She finished her degree in psychology and Pastoral Ministries from Oral Roberts University, Christ for the Nations and Dallas Baptist University. Upon graduation, Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas hired her as a worship pastor where she joined the Gateway Band whose live album, Wake Up The World, debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart in 2008.

On February 10, 2009, Kari released her self-titled debut Kari Jobe produced by Ed Cash through Gateway Create Publishing and Integrity Music. The album contains a collection of worship pop/folk songs such as her popular Revelation Song, My Beloved, and No Sweeter Name and co-writes with worship leaders/songwriters Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, Mia Fieldes, Ed Cash and Klaus Kuehn. Her album hit #1 on iTunes Christian music chart. The album is also available in Spanish called Le Canto.

Kari states, that the album Kari Jobe is about hope and life; and lifting the broken off the floor and singing love over them. The songs create intimate moments and outward shouting, and it’s Kari’s hope that the songs find the broken and lift them to a place of praise to God for what he’s done.
